What is ceramic window tint?
If you demand top-level performance combined with a custom design, you've found your answer in ceramic windows. It starts with the very thin material used in other tinted glass products but is then coated with microscopic nano-sized ceramics that are invisible to the human eye. These ceramics are so effective they can actually block out 99 percent of harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation, and handle the sun's most heat-generating infrared rays. In addition,

Is ceramic tint the same as infrared tint?Ceramic tint is an innovative technology that helps protect your car's interior from harmful UV rays. Newer ceramic innovations are often referred to as infrared tint or infrared-blocking film. These films help block out the sun's heat-causing infrared light waves. They're also able to cut down on glare and reflections, helping keep your vision clear.

How is Ceramic tint Made?
There exist several different types of window film for cars. These include:
- Dyed Window Tint: This is tint that has a polyester material with an added liquid dye. This dye can be applied to the inside of the glass depending on the level of tint desired. Darker tints mean lower levels of visible light transmittance. So - dark tinted windows would have a visible light transmittance of only 2%. Tinted windows do not block out ultraviolet rays as effectively as clear glass does.
- Metalized Window Tint: The next level of Window Film is a metallic tint. Its made with metallic flakes that helps to block Ultraviolet Rays (UVA & UVB) - these are responsible for damaging surfaces like Leather, Plastic, Rubber, and Textile. They are also responsible for causing Skin Cancer. A Metalized Window Film can also provide added Strength to the Window - so it doesn't shatter.
- Hybrid Dye/Metallic Film: mid-grade tint combines the best qualities of dyed and metallic film. It adds UV protection and improves clarity. The hybrid tint includes a mixture of grey dye and titanium flake pigments.
- Carbon Color Stable: Carbon Color Stable (CCS) is a multi-layered dye film with an infusion containing carbon tinting agents. These agents add strength and longevity to the life cycle of the product. CCS also contains a layer of polyester lining that extends the lifespan and reduces the possibility of discoloration. The term “color stable” refers to using high quality dyes and polyester coatings that extend the lifespan and reduce the potential of discoloring.
- Crystalline Window Tint: The crystalline- infused window tint is the entry point to greater heat resistance. This film is usually a high VT rating (meaning it‘s more transparent) and has exceptional IR blocking technology. It’s made to reduce the potential of heat entering the vehicle vs providing privacy or darker appearing windows. It’s also quite effective at blocking all ultraviolet rays.
- Ceramic Window Tint: With a ceramic-tinted window film, nanotechnology is the game. It‘s a multi-layer film that uses microscopic ceramic nanoparticles that are nonconductive. To block nearly 99.9 percent of both ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB), the lack of metal in the film helps improve cellular phone and electronic device signal quality. Plus, when an infrared (IR) blocking coating is added to the film, it can significantly reduce the amount of heat entering the car.
